About This Blog

This blog was created to chronicle my journey to get into shape and lose enough weight to be able to fit on the attraction Harry Potter & the Forbidden Journey at Universal Orlando. In order to be able to ride, the over-the-shoulder restraint must click down three times. At the time of starting this blog, I was able to only get two clicks. I never really had the motivation to lose weight or change my lifestyle, so I'm excited to see where this will go!

  2. This is outstanding! I sincerely applaud you for taking the initiative to make positive changes in your life rather than sue or protest. This is the original "American Spirit" that the rest of us are missing - and that we need to get this country back on track... making positive changes rather than just complaining. All the best to you and God bless! Dave K - Medford, WI

I think that with it being the era of the plus size I think that the ride should have been disigned to fit a broader spectrum of sizes (I don't think that you looked too big for any rides). This kind story commonly ends with some sort of discrimination suite. I too have struggled with weight and I know that you can overcome this. I wish you all the luck on your journey. Though I don't fallow the Harry Potter stories and I am afraid of big rides I hope that when the times comes for you to reap the rewards of all your hard work it is all you hoped it would be....don't stop @ just enough to fit the ride use this to get as healthy as you can...GOOD LUCK XOXO M.

  8. Keep up the good work! Just keep moving Banks, you will get there! And when you get to three clicks don't stop there is so much more out there for you to acheive! Walking has been the best for my neighbor and I. In 6 weeks I am down 13 lbs, fast walking not strolling get the led out and you will make your goal and beyond!

  10. Best wishes--I have also been on a weight-loss journey lately. I only wish I had the incentive of an HP ride as a reward!

  11. I hope your positive spirit becomes contagious and encourages more American's struggling with weight to take the first step towards a healthier way of living. Congratulations to you for what you accomplished so far, and special thanks to your family who supported you. What a relief to hear this story ending with weight loss rather than a lawsuit!

  12. It's sad that it took being denied admittance to a Harry Potter ride to make you start to lose weigh, but good on you for doing it. Hopefully you can inspire other overweight people to lose weight...

  13. Hi! I am so discouraged to find out that this ride has a weight restriction. As if being fat is not hard enough. I am 5'8" 235 pounds. Do you think I will fit?
